so after the concert, we walked around the art museum grounds which were very beautiful! perhaps we should have limited our visit to the grounds!
we went inside to have lunch (with bowls made from corn and silverware made from plants) then went through the maze of hallways during its extensive renovation to get to the exhibit halls. jonny really liked the medieval court with the suits of armour and swords and such, and jessy loved the portraits of the women (princesses!).
i was really proud of the kids for doing so well at the museum where 'we don't touch ANYTHING!'.
UNTIL...
jonny just had a sudden burst of evergy and dashed away from me and hopped onto a raised floor about 6 inches off the ground. that wouldn't have been too bad, except for the fact that he walked onto a 200 year old carpet that was suspended from the ceiling and went down onto the raised floor upon which his shoes made contact, setting off alarms! it was completely aweful! the security gaurd had to radio it in since he touched it, and the carpet was 'wrinkled'. then her supervisor came in, took our information, and had to radio the museum director! he came and assessed the condition of the carpet and then talked to jonny. he reminded him that this museum wasn't for running or touching, and said that there was no damage, but they would have to log it into their books and realign the rug.
did i mention that the carpet in question belonged to king louis XV of france? yea, just great! i was totally mortified, i didn't even know what to think! i'm just glad that he didn't break anything!!!!
so, sorry uncle matt and natsumi, you art museum patrons, but if next time you go, the aforementioned carpet is behind a wall or gate or glass or something, it's all our fault!

I think that's hilarious! You gotta figure, it's the only time he can do that and sort of get away with it!!! Might as well take advantage of it!! hahaha
:D
Glad it was you and not me!!!!!!!!! Poor Sarah.... and poor Jonny, although he'll get over that sooner than you will!
