saturday morning my mom and i took the kids to the 'world famous' cleveland orchestra for a childrens' program of Scheherazade, the guy who wrote sinbad and aladdin. it was fun, the kids were able to sit through the hour long concert, and they didn't make too much noise! there were dancers acting out the stories as the orchestra played, which helped keep their attention! there were dragons, horses, birds, and of course, princesses!
before the concert the kids got to try out some of the instruments, jonny really liked the violin, and even wowed the trombone player since he could arleady play it (from playing my french horn). jessy liked the gong the best!
after the concert, we went down to the floor to try and talk to my old teacher, but he wasn't around anymore. but the kids were able to touch some of the props and talk to the dancers, so it was worth it. we walked around the hall for a little bit, searching for the lotus blossom, a favorite of mrs. severance. jonny was pretty good at spotting them all over the hall!
