the big top circus came to town and we thought it would be fun to see the elephants raise the tent! i guess it's the only circus that still uses elephants to do this job anymore, so it's pretty cool! they do so many shows a year, it's a crazy life! set up camp in the morning, do 2 shows in the afternoon and evening, take everything down and then drive through the night to the next destination!
it was cool though, being so up close to the animals that were just let out of their trailers! and watching all the performers and trainers walking around getting ready.
who knew camels liked maple trees!
here's the elephant after lifting all the poles into place and a couple of clowns that escaped the trailers!
watching the animals coming out to stretch and eat. there are the elephants in the background and shetland ponies closer up. one was pretty naughty and kept stealing the others' oats cause he knocked his bowl over!
and the elephant does his share!
