syracuse zoo

after picking up elisa from the syracuse airport (which was an adventure in and of itself), elisa, jenni and kids and me and my kids went to the syracuse zoo. my mom and matt went to an urgent care center, where it was discovered that my mom had pneumonia! so, they were only able to meet up with us at the zoo as we were leaving.

but we had a great day, seeing all the animals and exploring different parts of the zoo. they were able to see some animals really close up, which is always nice. it was a very long day, but we had a lot of fun!


jessy's favorite part was the lion and lioness cuddling on the rocks and grooming each other. what can i say?

towards the end of the day, everyone was pretty tired! lyddia was really sleeping, jess was being silly! we didn't check the tires for air before leaving for the zoo, and they were totally flat! we had to ask about a dozen people that had air tires on their stroller if they had a pump, and we did finally find one! it was quite a quest for the day!

this elephant went up on his hind legs, and we couldn't figure out what he was up to, until he grabbed the leaves above him!

lyddie has to train on the wooden goat before they'll let her milk the real cows on the farm!


jonny and caleb were very curious about the merlin falcon the zoo keeper was displaying. they had a lot of good questions for him, and even answered some of his right!


the moose or elk or whatever it is is cool, but do you see that little rascal in his water dish? there were groundhogs everywhere in the zoo! they even had signs around telling people not to feel them!
