this is 'henry'. he's a triceratops that was on display at the plantation historical museum. it's a fun little museum, all about florida, and the growth of the area. they have a large display on seashells and fossils of extinct animals from the area and dinosaurs and stuff. and some really beautiful artwork incorporating the dinosaurs and tropical flowers.
they also have a part on the growth of plantation, an old firetruck, and old equipment and photos and stuff. they have a large selection of model cars, some are worth quite a lot of money! our friend at the hotel builds models as a hobby, so we told him all about it.
then they also have a display of the native americans from the area, the seminoles. it showed their ceremonial dresses and canoes made from big trees.
the kids got special little toys because they were very well behaved in the museum. some old men from the community build little wooden toys like turtles and dinosaurs that wobble when you push them. the kids loved thier prizes and want to go back to get more! we'll see about that.
