this one is long overdue, but with our 2 full weeks of strep and colds, we haven't done much of anything! but i pretty much let the kids decorate the tree this year, joe was out of town, and they just got really excited about the whole thing, so why not! it's not like i'm entering the tree into any decorating contests or anything, and the kids are pretty proud of their work.
we don't have a chimney or fireplace in this house, so we discussed santa's options pretty heavily. i think we're going to leave the back door unlocked. at first i said open, and jonny corrected me that leaving it open would let all the cold air in. silly me.
they are loving getting ready for christmas! i have two advent calendars, one that counts up and one that counts down the days, and they have had a fun time reminding me everyday to change them. and we love going out at night to see all the fancy christmas lights! luckily our favorite so far is just at the end of our street! although we did take a drive one night to a super ritzy neighborhood, and their lights weren't too shabby!
