technology: friend or foe

lately i've been doing things a little differently, meaning, doing things a little 'greener' and cheaper.

so this means, line drying my clothes, stuffing the dishwasher a little fuller (it's possible!), and keeping the lights off a little more, and not running the desktop computer 24/7. it's been great! i've embrassed these changes, and i've been rewarded! our electric bill last month was only $10 for our 3 bedroom house with basement!!

so here's what i want to get across:
technology is awesome, but doing some tasks a little more old fashioned, saves money, saves the planet, and takes a little extra time. but i'm ok with the extra time, i still have enough to read up on everyone's blogs daily! and it will help the kids learn how to do things themselves and not to depend on technology for everyday tasks. the time will soon come when we won't have easy access to exactly what we need right when we need it.
