welcome to powell!

so, we finally made the 'move'! the whole process took about 3 months, but the actual move took less than 24 hours! so, we got the truck, loaded it up, had to leave some things behind cause they didn't fit, and said goodbye to mentor!
i'm so glad we didn't have to drive that big truck all the way to florida! that would have been miserable! luckily, this 2 and half hour drive, wasn't too bad.





here are a few observations of our new town:
1- there are so many dogs!!! everyone has a dog, luckily everyone's yards are fenced. but when one barks, they all bark!
2- we're only like 3 houses away from the railroad. it really isn't that bad, they don't have the horns where we are, but occasionally, the windows rattle as it passes by.
3- there are 4, yes four, mcdonalds between our house and joe's office, 6 miles away! and the kids whine for it everytime we pass one!
4- the people are all really nice! like when we went at 3:15 on friday afternoon to register jonny for school, they were still really nice!
5-every store you could want is within 8 miles of our house- it's pretty nice, but makes it harder to get in and out.
6- i LOVE having a fenced yard!!!
7- we have way too much stuff!!! (ok, that one isn't about the town, but i'm still coming to the realization now)
8- they have really cool community rec centers! with big pools, tons of programs, babysitting and everything! we haven't used anything yet, but we're looking into things.

photos of the house and stuff will come soon, unless you want to see boxes and newspaper stacked to the ceiling. all in all, we like it here and are really looking forward to exploring the area more.
