fleet science center

this is the real color, they had 3 lights up so that you could make different shadows.

we went to the reuben h fleet science center in balboa park on july 30th. the kids had a really good time. it was a really nice science center, not 'flashy' like the great lakes one. like at great lakes, everything was manufactured and shiny and like 'science stuff'. and the fleet center was like everyday things turned into a science experiment. you know, to make the different sounds, they used glass bottles and a stick, the great lakes would have specially designed bottles with a titanium stick or something ridiculous to make it look fancier than it really was. it was nice cause you'd be there and you'd think, 'hey, i can make this at home!'. if you get what i'm saying, thanks for humoring me, and if you are completely lost by what i just said- you're the one that chose to read this!

anyhow- we also saw an imax movie, the grand canyon. it was really good, the kids got antsy, but i enjoyed it! it was about water conservation and the colorado evaporating and being wasted by all you westerners! it's givin me a different focus on 'saving the world'. here's the link to the page, it's got some great stuff in there, and some good music from dave matthews: www.grandcanyonadventurefilm.com.
