we had given the kids some gum as we were heading out of ft. lauderdale, trying to get onto the highway, with 5 million other people at rush hour, when jess informs us that she got her gum in her hair! it was wadded in there really good, so i did all that i could do in the car, and i wrapped it with a baby wipe and pony tail holder and told her not to touch it until we could stop. at our first potty break, we found some scissors and cut out what we couldn't get out by pulling. it was a mess, but at least now she keeps her gum in her mouth!
and speaking of that car ride... it was the longest EVER!! we drove straight to cleveland, only stopping for about 4 hours at rest stop to catch a few ZZZ's, at which time, jess was laying on top of me in the passenger seat. when we finally made it to cleveland, we hit more rush hour traffic! i was starting to feel a bit chlosterphobic, but we managed to make it home safely and with most of our sanity in tact.
