we took the kids to a cleveland orchestra concert for kids called the composer is dead. it was really cute, the kids kind of missed the humor, but i enjoyed it! the composer was there and narrated a story to us throughout the music. he was a detective who was questioning the different families of instruments to see who murdered the composer. as it turned out, the conductor did it, but all of them at one time or another has murdered a composers work!
before the show, they have different instruments out for the kids to sample. my kids are so used to all the instruments from home, my mom's classroom, and these pre-concert times, they are pretty good at making sounds. almost lesson time i think!

and i caught my old horn teacher as he was leaving and was able to chat with him for a few minutes and that was really nice! i'd love to start playing again in a group!
